DNN TaskManager : Edit Task Link Button : EditUrl() Fails To Properly Load Edit Control

description

I have been following the DNN TaskManager 25 part series on module development, and have run into an issue that I cannot resolve in Part 24 of the series.

When I click the 'Edit' link for a Task within the View control, I receive the following error in my browser (IE, Firefox, and Chrome):

Corrupted Content Error

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected.

I have tried using several of the EditUrl overloads as a workaround, but so far I have had no results.

I wrapped the call to EditUrl (found inside the rptTaskListOnItemCommand event) in a try-catch block, but I cannot read the exception details. I receive the following message:

Unable to evaluate expression because the code is optimized or a native frame is on top of the call stack

I am at a stopping point due to this issue and am unable to finish the TaskManager series. Is there maybe a step that I missed somewhere along the way? I'm not really sure where to go from here.

I removed my implementation of Task Manager and then downloaded the source package and installed on my DNN instance (a fresh install of DNN 6.02). The module now functions properly (although the edit task control is no longer contained in a modal popup like the version I was building as I walked through the 25 part series.)

I have compared my solution with the working solution that I downloaded, and I cannot put my finger on what the difference is. Might there be a thread somewhere about this issue that would indicate why a solution created by following the tutorial does not work and the final version of the source package found here on CodePlex does?
