A critical error has occurred. Input string was not in a correct format.

Trying to input a task and getting "A critical error has occurred. Input string was not in a correct format."

It's probably something I did, but, right now, I don't have a clue as to what to look for.

Thanks for any help.

I would start by Debugging (attach to process from the debug menu, find the W3WP process) and see if you can track down where the error is occurring.

Thanks. I'm debugging now but one thing that may be the problem - it's not pulling up any users in the user list to assign tasks. So I submit without a User...

Might this cause the error message since it seems like a required field?

And, in the debugger, it fails at:

t = new Task()
            {
                AssignedUserId = Convert.ToInt32(ddlAssignedUser.SelectedValue),
                CreatedByUserId = UserId,
                CreatedOnDate = DateTime.Now,
                TaskName = txtName.Text.Trim(),
                TaskDescription = txtDescription.Text.Trim(),

            };
which pretty much confirms it.

There is only one user, the super User - me. But why would it not show up in the list? I guess I'll debug this and/or add some more users....

Yes, you will need to create a user (host/superusers won't show up in the list). That is likely the problem

Yep, that was it. Fixed now and works by adding new user.
